It is a shame that while the vast majority of people claim their health is of paramount importance to them, they are unwilling to invest the time and effort required to improve and protect it. They particularly bristle and stall at the notion of having to invest their own time and money in such things as a proper exercise program to improve, and then maintain their health, foolishly believing it is someone else's responsibility or "my insurance should do that."

It is hard to believe that the health of many people is hurtling down a spiral of decline and they just sit back and accept it. One out of every two people in our world today has one chronic disease or illness and many have multiple conditions that seriously affect the quality of their life.

Two thirds of us are overweight, many obese and the rest of us are tired, apathetic and not feeling all that great. If you continue the common 'normal' lifestyle that most people live, you will get the same tragic results that go with the territory.

This 'normal' lifestyle has the characteristics of complete avoidance of anything that resembles exercise or any strenuous activity of any description. Sitting as much as possible is a requirement of this sedentary lifestyle.

It also involves eating as much processed food as possible, the faster and nastier the better. So called food that comes in pretty boxes made with dirt cheap ingredients and little to no nutritional value what-so-ever is particularly popular.

You now have a ticking time bomb – and it is you! Did you know that you have a 95% chance of dying prematurely and needlessly from one of the 'big three' heart disease, cancer or diabetes if you choose to go down this path?

So, let's turn the focus to you. If you look in the mirror are you happy with the person looking back at you? What physical ailments do you have? Is there a disease that you dread getting? Are you living what you believe to be an ideal life or is it compromised because your body is compromised?

And the big question – Do you believe that there is anything you can do to turn this situation around or more importantly do you want to?

It is easy to see how someone is influenced by old thinking, deeply ingrained conditioning and lifelong habits and it does take courage to make a commitment to uncover the truth under these layers and layers of old ways. But to save a life – your life - you need to be willing to take the action steps necessary to embark upon the journey to a better body, better health and a better quality of life.

It is not hard to make the necessary changes to start the journey to a better place. Firstly you need a proper exercise program, one that contains at least 60% strength training exercise. Seek the help of a fitness professional to set it up, teach you correct exercise technique and show you what level of intensity (degree of difficulty) it should be performed at.

Next get rid of all the processed food in your house and start cooking from scratch using whole natural foods at least 80% of the time. Try to eat 4-6 small meals with at least 20 grams of protein at each meal. Add raw and cooked vegetables and you have a healthy meal that will sustain and nourish you throughout the day.

These two strategies will start sending your body the right signals each day that you need to stay strong and healthy. Your body is waiting for those signals so it can send the right messages to the cells to continue to renew and rejuvenate themselves. You do have the power over which direction you want to go. You can either speed up or reverse disease and aging - it is your choice.
