How would it make you feel if you were told that you are responsible for your own health and wellness? Would it scare you or would it maybe even motivate you to respond in a new and different way? You could take control of your life to a much greater degree than you have ever been lead to believe either by traditional healthcare providers, the media or especially by the rest of society.

After all we have been programmed from a young age to accept without question our fate as we get older. If we get sick so be it, and it is just 'lady luck' whether we live a long healthy life or have an early death. We have never been taught that what we do or don't do on a daily basis in the way of proper exercise and healthy eating is almost 100% responsible how well we are and stay. Nobody bothers to tell us that our lifestyle choices will either help or hinder our health.

It does not help that the current medical model views "health" as freedom from disease symptoms. The best they can offer as 'prevention' is early detection of disease. Bu the idea of 'prevention' is absurd because early detection is not going to prevent anything.

The treatment offered by conventional medicine is only aimed at those who are sick and there is no goal or treatment to restore health. Therefore they cannot offer any such thing as health or wellness and most of us go along with these untrue beliefs. Supplying drugs that just treat symptoms of disease never was, and never will be, the solution. Doesn't it make sense that to treat sickness the root cause must be addressed?

Our current disease-based model is a true testimony to the power of the mighty dollar that utilizes the power of advertising to its fullest. People do not believe disease is normal or that drugs can cure disease because it is the truth. A long term cultural belief system has been created and paid for by the pharmaceutical industry to the tune of tens of billions of dollars a year.

It is imperative to realize that it is normal to be healthy and well. You need to accept and understand that your genes do not determine your level of health and longevity. It soon becomes self-evident that it is your lifestyle choices that trigger disease and sets the bar for your level of health right throughout your life.
And hence your lifestyle choices particularly with proper exercise and proper eating should be aimed at living up to your full potential; to optimize your health, rather than just trying to run from inevitable disease. It is also important to understand that true health and wellness is a whole lot more than simply 'not being sick'.

If you want to live a long healthy life, you may need to revisit your own deep core beliefs. Have you inadvertently bought into the prevailing disease based model believing your health is largely predetermined therefore it is not worth you taking the time and effort to take responsibility for it yourself. Waiting until you get sick then expecting doctors or drugs to make you well again is like playing Russian roulette.

Once you show symptoms of disease it is often way too late as that disease has possibly taken years or even decades to show itself and there simply is no cure. There is no doctor or drug that can fix the human body once it has arrived at a broken down state. At best if the disease can be managed you are left with half a life.

Take it upon yourself to take preventative action to protect the most precious asset you own – your health. A proper exercise program that is made up of mostly strength training exercise and eating as much natural whole foods as possible and getting rid of the processed food that comes in pretty boxes will go a long way to getting and keeping you strong, fit and healthy for a long, long time.
