1. Write for a reason. There are thousands of writers who are producing articles without knowing the things that they would like to achieve or knowing their purpose. Well, you cannot achieve your goals in writing your articles if you don't know them in the first place. So, before you tap on your keyboard, determine the things that push you to write your articles. These can serve as your very own roadmap to make sure that you will not get sidetracked in the process. 2. Write often. If you're writing for the internet, it's important that you write as often as you can. You don't need to spend all your waking hours in front of your computer. You don't even need to spend more than 3 hours tapping on your keyboard. Just make sure that you write at least one article per day. Doing this will help you get the hang of it. Not only that, you'll be able to update your website or your blog. This is one of the best ways to give your visitors a valid reason to keep on coming back. 3. Keep it tight. By this, I simply mean eliminate unnecessary words and those information that are not really relevant to your main topic. Your readers will surely appreciate it if you keep your articles short but very meaty. You don't need to use lengthy introductions and you don't need to use fillers and fluffs. Just get straight to the point and you'll surely get the kind of response that you need from your audience. 4. Let your opinion be known. This is applicable if you're posting your articles on your own website. You're allowed to voice out your opinions on the topics that you're writing on. Since your followers might believe in everything you say, be very careful when voicing out your thoughts and ideas. Ensure that they make sense. Also, ensure that you can back them up. 5. Research your competition. It's important that you know and understand the strategies of your competitors when they're writing their articles. This is the first step to set your articles apart from the rest. Know how much information that they're giving out and the writing techniques that they're usually using. Using this knowledge, find ways on how you can make your articles unique and how you can make them stand out from the crowd. 6. Insert links of reliable resources. Don't be afraid to insert links of other websites on your articles (you can only do this if you're posting your articles on your blog or website) especially if these sites are reputable. Your readers will find your articles more useful if you do this. 7. Make it easy to understand. You don't want to confuse your readers. So, avoid showing off your wide range of vocabulary when writing your articles. Keep your readers and their levels of comprehension in mind. Stick with words that they can easily understand. Use stories and examples when you're discussing complicated or relatively new topic. Using images, statistics, and graphics will also help. Remember, your audience must be able to understand your articles the first time they read them.
