After having heard a lot about the health benefits associated with the acai berry, you could have decided to start using it, in a bid to access those said benefits (or at least to see whether they are for real). It is from such a background then, that you could find yourself wondering on how, exactly, you can get the berry - that is, in what forms you can purchase it. It is that concern that we now proceed to address, as we explore the five main forms in which you can get to purchase the acai berry. 1. The juice form: this is where the berries are harvested, and industrially 'crushed' to obtain the juice from them. A preservative is then added to the juice (though not always), before the juice is packaged and distributed to the buyers. This is one of the purest forms in which you can get acai. That would especially be the case where it is a 100% acai juice you are getting (rather than some other sort of juice, with acai only added to it). 2. The tablet form: the initial steps toward the production of this are akin to those of acai berry juice processing. The difference here is that once the juice from the berries has been obtained, rather than immediately being packaged, it is taken for further processing, which culminates in its being presented in tablet form for easier distribution and convenience in consumption. The best of these pills are made purely out of acai, though, naturally, a filler material like starch has to be included to hold the whole pill together. 3. The powder form: the processing of acai to this form is akin to what happens in processing acai to the tablet form, with the only difference being that in the final step here, acai is presented as a powder, rather than a tablet, after the filler material has been added. Normally, this is not a powder to be licked, but rather a powder to be mixed with water to make an instant drink. To make it suitable for this purpose, permitted food coloring, sweeteners and preservatives may have to be added to it. 4. The yoghurt form: this is where the acai berry is added to fermented milk as a form of flavoring (but with additional nutritional value). Acai yoghurts have found great demand in the parts of the world where they are available. People see in them the opportunity to kill two birds with the same stone: to enjoy the great taste associated with a yoghurt, while at the same time obtaining the considerable health benefits associated with acai. 5. The whole (fruit) form: this is where acai berries are harvested, and without any form of industrial processing, packaged and shipped to the various parts of the world where they are needed. It is one of the purest forms in which you can obtain acai. It is unfortunately also likely to be considerably expensive, and impossible to obtain in some parts due to shipping difficulties.
