Once the root canal has been cleared, your dentist fills the cavity and seals the canal and your tooth will be completely sealed with a temporary or permanent filling. Finally, after a root canal procedure, you dentist will restore your tooth so it looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth. Your root canal procedure generally takes only one or two appointments as this is a very common and well-practiced procedure.
