Latest Breaking News - Health - Viewing: Want A Bikini Ready Body? - Here's How You Can Get It

2010-08-22

We may wonder when women are really going to 'get it' and discover that their weight on the bathroom scales is not the single greatest factor in how they want to look.

Many women are so hung up on the scale weight that they deny themselves the benefits of the very tool that can get them into top shape in the faster possible manner - a proper strength training exercise program.

As an example of its power, a female figure competitor might be 5'5" and be a tiny size 4/6 yet many people would be surprised that she weighs in at 145 pounds. Yet she would be very lean, toned and in great shape at this weight and so much more petite than your average woman who might well weigh less on the scales.

The scales do not tell you how lean you are yet this is the most important factor in how good or not so good you look. Your body composition is the correct measure of your weight loss and fitness success, your muscle tissue/fat ratio.

There is still the fear that strength training exercise is going to make a woman 'bulky' yet they are often already really bulky from the excess fat on their bodies. If you do not keep your muscular system strong with proper exercise you are losing precious muscle tissue and gaining fat. If you rely on the scales as your measure you will not see this as it does not tell you how 'fat' you are.

Remember the muscle loss is also hiding the fat increase as it sneaks into the space left by the shrinking muscle tissue so it is largely hidden. That is until you wake up to the fact that you have become very flabby and your body shape has changed negatively.

Your upper thighs are the first place you can see muscle loss - just turn side on to a mirror and see if your thighs look thinner. You may think your legs look nice and slim but the way they have got slim is the loss of your fat burning tissue - your muscle.

This is why many women as they get older get a 'spider' like look about them, skinny legs and a widening waistline. This is the end result of not doing enough muscle building and maintaining activity over the years.

Many women rely on low intensity repetitive 'cardio' activities to get them into shape but listen up - these types of activities will never ever give you what you really want - a strong, lean, firm, shapely, healthy body.

You can get three times the results in half the time with a proper strength training program. If you put some effort into it and it is set up right you will boost your metabolism and reshape your body, and the best part is you will keep it like that as long as you continue to perform 2-3 sessions each week. If you feel you need to do more sessions you are simply not training hard enough.

Focus on quality not quantity and watch your body turn into the body you will be happy and proud to live in for the rest of your life. Your bikini will look great on you as well.
