The English language is not too difficult to learn but it is a very difficult language to master. Learning to read in English can be easier than most thought. English language has a variety of contradictions that throw people trying to learn the language off track. For instance, the language has words such as "uncouth" with "un" acting as a prefix, yet the word "couth" is an old English word which is not included in newer dictionary. At the same time, everyday words such as "reuse", meaning can be made into "use", are not be found in most dictionary. English words and rules are derived from many different languages. The English language borrows words heavily from Latin and French. English does not have one clear point of origin. English is the product of many languages and dialects. It took a wide cross section of many other languages to make English what it is today. Modern English words and rules can be very confusing. No other language boasts as many colloquial sayings and popular expressions as the English language. Furthermore, the language is a living and breathing monster that only requires creativity and pop culture to change it. New words and sayings may be invented, much too quick to keep up.

In order to learn the English language, an individual must possess a strong command over these annoying nuisances in addition to learning the rules that hold it all together. The English language already has an enormous vocabulary and is not afraid to adopt words and phrases from other languages on ongoing basis. This mimics the culture of the English language, which comprised of natives to the land as well as immigrants from other lands who are integrated.
