The fight continues on. Many Marietta residents object to the existence of having title loans organizations within the Marietta area. Many residents shun the idea of any of what they consider to be shady type business organizations such as title Loan Company's or pawnshops. But, what it all boils down to is one simple thing. Supply and demand, many residents all around Marietta desire to have title loan organizations in their town, and as always, if there is a demand for a product and or service, there will certainly be a supply. Many residents living in the Marietta area depend on these services to get them out of financial binds from time to time. Not having these the title loan company's being conveniently located would make it much more difficult for many of the lower income residents to run down the street, and obtain quick emergency cash loans. The fact that these title loan lenders most of which never check the borrowers credit, or often times, never even require much solid proof of income allows lower income folks to get bailed out of potentially devastating financial binds. But as usual, the fight continues between local government, the wealthy residents, smaller less desirable business organizations, and the working poor. This fight is just as radically obvious on the local levels such as Marietta as it is on the national political stage. The argument against having Marietta Title Loans organizations in the city often comes with a soft sale, and often utilizes the Trojan horse techniques. Wealthier politicians tend to disguise themselves as being consumer activists fighting for the welfare of the lower income residents. The high interest rates charged on these short term emergency loans often is there battle cry claiming that they are concerned for the consumer safety of the lower income residents, when in reality, they a re simply looking rid the town of undesirable operations, while at the same time appearing to show concern for the less fortunate among them. This is definitely the oldest trick in the bag. What Marietta local officials need to realize, is that not only do these title loans organizations serve a consumer demand, these Marietta Title Loans organizations also bring tax revenue, as well as employment for the local residents. The politicians attempt not to purely boot the Title Loan companies out of town, but rather in a mild suggestive act of making it more and more difficult for them to open locations, and or legislating the interest rates allowed to charge to the point that opening a title loan operation is just not a profitable endeavor. No matter which side of the aisle you stand on, you must take a moment, and ask the question, do you really want local, state, or federal government protecting lower income folks? If so, then don't start complaining when government at any level starts trying to protect you. This is a sure fire slide right into becoming a nanny state, where even local government tells you that for your own safety, you can't get any loans.
