Nothing adds life and color to a patio or even a room like a hanging plant or basket of flowers. The problem is that getting those plants hung can sometimes turn into a big frustration. But, it doesn't have to be. There is an easy way to get hanging plants on hooks. Here's a few steps on how to make hanging a basket much easier:

Step # 1: Pick a place to hang your plant or flower basket. Make sure the space and basket are the right sizes. Remember that your plants may grow larger in your basket, so be sure there is plenty of room for them to dangle without becoming bothersome. The plants should be able to grow without becoming restricted by walls or columns.

If you're hanging more than one basket in a row, measure out the space between each basket, so they do not crowd each other.

Step # 2: Gather all of the equipment that you will need including hangers, your basket, plants, hooks, etc. Depending on where you are putting the baskets, you may also need to use a drill to help get the hook holes started.

Having all your equipment together before you get started will help the project stay organized and smooth.

Step # 3: Arrange your plants and flowers in your basket, making sure that you have enough potting soil to keep them permanently in place.

Step # 4: Be sure to use a step stool to screw your hook into the ceiling - no standing on furniture! A step stool is the only safe way to ensure you won't slip and fall during the installation process. If you're reaching taller areas, like on a patio, you may need to use a step ladder.

Step # 5: Once your screw is in place, add a hook and then hang your plant. It really is that easy!

Step #6: Now that you've got beautiful flowers and/or greenery in its new place, don't forget to put away all your equipment and step stools for the next time you need them. This will make your next project stay organized as well.

Once your beautiful hanging basket is securely in place, it's time to water it and enjoy the fresh burst of color you've installed. Just don't forget to water your plant regularly to keep it healthy and strong.
