There is one surefire way you can slow the aging process and that is looking after your muscular system so that it is toned and healthy. It is impossible to look young and at your best without good muscle tone. The firm, lean shapely body we would all like to live in is simply not attainable without it. Slowing down the aging process is ideally not something you start later in life but something you do right through your adult life. However, it is never too late to get started and should be seen as an investment as it builds and strengthens as the years pass by. As our bodies are designed to be very active it is this very activity that will keep Father Time from your door for as long as possible. When you exercise your muscles 'growth and repair' hormones are stimulated and released. Without these hormones your skin will sag and wrinkle, your energy levels will be low and you are likely to gain excess body fat especially around the abdomen. But these hormones are only stimulated by direct muscular activity such as strength training exercise. Low intensity endurance type activities like walking, jogging or cycling are not intense enough for these 'youth' hormones to be activated. Strength training is the key to renewed vitality and without question no other type of exercise has more of an impact on your overall strength and health. Strong muscles will improve your looks on the outside and on the inside will strengthen every system and process, cell and tissue. So you will become more youthful from the inside out and that is where it really counts. Sure we can get face lifts, injections, surgery and implants but there is not one surgeon or doctor in the world that can give us all over, naturally build, vital looking and performing muscle tissue. When our muscles grow stronger with proper exercise they grow into a firmer more pleasing shape and are taunt against the body. Weak, flabby muscles hang and sag and add years to your looks as well as compromising your health. People who exercise have fewer wrinkles and look much younger than people who do not exercise at the same age. When you are active and use your muscles, circulation is increased and the delivery of oxygen and nutrients keeps your body youthful and healthy. Your cells become more active, perform better and are renewed at a greater rate. Without this physical movement old worn out cells are not replaced and to stay young the last thing you need is chemicals whispering to them to decay degenerate and die. Give the expensive medical procedures a miss and get yourself started on a proper strength training program at your local gym or fitness center. It will rejuvenate all of your body's cells putting the brakes on the aging process along with giving you a ton of energy. It will make you stronger, more flexible; reduce excess body fat especially around the mid section, improve your balance and protect you from disease. You will become younger no matter what your age is.
