1. Choose the best service providers. Protect your online reputation and make sure that you'll get the kind of articles that you're looking for by checking references before you hire ghostwriters. It's important that you carefully review their portfolio and that you verify their skills. For your own protection, consider a small test project to really gauge their writing skills and expertise on the topics that they're about to write. Be very clear about your expectations upfront. Tell them what you want and you do not want in writing. Review all the articles before you use them on your website. Make sure that they're perfect as they'll represent you in the online arena. 2. It's important for you to make sure that you and your service provider are on the same page. Remember, you don't want any surprises in the future. Come to an agreement for smooth working relationship. Always use a contract, agree on the payment and terms of payment upfront, and make sure that you make your service provider understand that you're not going to send the payment unless the work is done to your satisfaction. Also, agree on the timeline for the work -- you must have pre-set deadlines that your service provider must meet. Lastly, clarify confidentiality expectations. Tell your service provider upfront that you expect him not to use your articles in any way after the full payment was sent. 4. Provide feedback. Ask your service providers to send the articles that they finish everyday and give them feedback. If there are some things that they need to modify, tell them nicely. If everything was done based on your requirements and if you're fully satisfied, make sure that you let them know. It's important that you boost the confidence of these people and that you appreciate them. This is the key to building a long term working relationship with them. 5. Respect your service provider's time. Keep in mind that these people are not your slaves. Don't expect them to be available for you every minute of every day especially if you're from different time zones. Always give them 24 hours to respond. 6. Always be available. Tell your service providers how they can reach you if they have questions or clarifications and make sure that you make yourself available to them. This is something that you can do to make sure that they'll be able to write your articles based on your needs and requirements. 7. Be very strict with your rules. Lay out your rules upfront. Tell your service providers your expectations and the things that you don't find acceptable. For example, you can tell them that you don't want them to copy other articles or that you don't want them to subcontract your articles. If they break these rules, make sure that you do something about it. You can send reminders or terminate the contract depending on the severity of the issue. This is one way to demand courtesy and to make sure that your service providers will take you seriously.
