2010-06-07

1. Contact your subscribers ASAP. It shouldn't take you very long to make that initial contact with your subscribers after they shared their contact information with you. Ideally, you should send them confirmation email or newsletters within 24 hours so they will not soon forget about the things that they have signed up for. Ensure that you leave a lasting first impression so they will not soon forget about you.

2. Don't email them too frequently. Your subscribers will surely not be happy to receive newsletters from you on a daily basis. So, how often should you email these people? Well, that will depend on their preferences. What I recommend is that you conduct a survey to know how many newsletters they would like to receive per month or better yet, give them frequency options the moment they signed up.

3. Don't send them sales letters if they already made a purchase. Sending these people with sales letters about a product that they already bought is not a good idea. Does that mean you should stop sending them newsletters? Of course, the answer is no. What you can do is to send them informative content and offer them with your other products and services that they might find useful or valuable in their lives.
4. Do not share your subscribers' information to third party without their written permission. This is the worst thing that you can do as an internet marketer. Giving out your subscribers' email addresses and other contact information to third parties when spam emails are on the rise can really hurt your reputation. You don't want your subscribers blogging about their bad experience in doing business with you, right?

5. Make your subscribers feel special. These people should be the first ones to know about your promotions. They should also be the first ones to receive discounts and freebies. Giving them some things that you're not offering to non-subscribers will surely make them feel better.

6. Get contact information other than email addresses. People these days can easily change their email addresses, thanks to several free email platforms. As an internet marketer, this is a problem that you need to deal with. I recommend that you get the phone number of your subscribers together with their email addresses. Should they change their email address, you can easily get an update by giving them a call.

7. Always offer your subscribers with amazing content. Take all the time that you need when writing your newsletters. Ensure that they will leave a lasting mark on the minds of your recipients. I suggest that you load them up with quality information that these people will be able to make use of. For example, you can tell them secrets on how they can easily reach their goals or how they can solve their pressing issues.
