Modern society is obsessed with keeping as youthful as possible with millions of dollars being spent each year in an attempt to have the signs of Father Time removed from our bodies. A nip to lift this, a procedure to tuck that, a pill, cream, injection or a treatment to fix something else.

But no amount of these largely external procedures can ever really have any real effect on truly slowing the aging process. It is rather pointless to spend money on quick fix procedures or surgical options only to have your body aging at an accelerated rate from the inside out.

There is a way more effective and far less costly solution to slow the signs of aging, retain youthfulness and give protection from disease. If you are not keeping your body strong with proper exercise it hastens the aging process. As muscle strength wanes, bones weaken, the metabolism (the body's engine) slows to a crawl, the heart and lungs lose strength and power, posture sags and droops and height shrinks from loss of muscle strength and energy levels decline.

Sure, these so called anti aging products and procedures may be a band aid that may help you look a little younger...for a while.....but you should not think for a second that you should replace proper exercise with them Not if you truly wish to remain youthful.

The facts of the matter are none of them can:
• can transform your body inside and out like proper exercise does
• can give you unlimited energy and vitality like exercise does
• can make you stronger and more flexible like exercise does
• can make you mentally and emotionally strong like exercise does
• can prevent you from disease and sickness like exercise does
• can prevent you from staying injury free like exercise does
• can give you long-lasting health and wellness for life like exercise does

For it to work though this proper exercise has to work the muscles through their ranges of movement under a load. No long, slow, low intensity activity is going to cut the mustard here. You have to challenge your muscles to stay strong if you truly want exercise to help you stay young.

And the great thing is when we restore muscle tone and strength, energy levels increase and fatigue disappears. As muscle and bone take up stronger support positions for the body, the strain on the cardiovascular and skeletal systems is decreased. The efficiency of every system in your body increases and the energy formerly used to simply maintain will now be available to use in daily activities. Every day tasks and activities become so much easier when your body functions at its best.

You will control your weight with strength training exercise, and, over time bring your body fat percentage into a healthy range by increasing your metabolism. Your body will then burn more fuel (calories) both while you are exercising and while you are at rest. And best of all you get to maintain a healthy and youthful appearance no matter your age.
