1. Plan ahead. Proper planning is crucial to your success in this endeavor. Before you start writing your newsletters, determine first how often you'll be sending these to your target audience. 1-2 times a week is acceptable. Then, create a list of topics that you're going to discuss for the next 3-6 months. This is to make sure that you'll be able to offer your readers with great information in a logical manner.

2. Create an outline. Create an outline for each of your newsletters. List down the exact information that you'll give out and make sure that they're not redundant. Also, ensure that you'll offer your readers nothing but new and useful information so you can easily grab their attention.

3. Do your research. Check out other newsletters particularly those that are distributed by your competitors. You would want to know what they contain and how they were written. This will help you in easily figuring out how you can make your newsletters stand out from the crowd.

4. Get the pulse of your readers. Do not forget about your readers. Keep their needs and demands in mind each time you're tapping on your keyboard. Make sure that you offer them exactly what they're looking for. This is the first step to get them act on your favor.

5. Use snappy, catchy subject lines. Be desperate for attention when writing your subject lines. Your initial goal is to get your recipients to open your newsletters. Use controversy, humor, wit, etc. to grab your readers by the throat. Also, ensure that you communicate the benefits that your newsletters can offer.

6. Make it informative. You would want to impress your readers. You want them to think that you're really an expert in your niche and that you have what it takes to offer them the best solutions to their problems. This will only happen if you showcase your in-depth knowledge. I suggest that you load up your content with solid information and personal secrets.

7. Keep it short. Respect your readers' time. Don't require these people to sit in front of their computer for more than 5 minutes. You can do this by making your newsletters relatively short but meaty. 250 words should be enough to discuss your chosen topics.

8. Use bullet list or short paragraphs. This is to make your content scannable and easy on the eyes. It will help if you use only the most powerful words to effectively communicate your ideas without taking too much space. It will also help if you stick with your topics and if you avoid covering too many grounds.

9. Pitch in your products and services subtly. Although you want these people to swipe their credit cards as soon as possible, you must avoid doing hard-selling at all cost. What you can do is to create a need for your product and highlight their features and benefits. This should help you influence the buying decision of your readers.
