2010-02-13

If you're a true fan that keeps up with everything that's about the Montreal Canadiens, chances are you already know that you can vote for the player of the week every week during the 2009-10 hockey season. The winning play from each week will automatically be entered into a year-end elimination tournament to determine the play of the year. At the end of the first week in February, the choices are from the January 26th game against Florida and the nominees for that week are Michael Cammalleri, Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Markov; affectionately known as the snake charmers for their feats on the ice during that game.

In the January 30th game against Ottawa, Jaroslav Halak foiled Milan Michalek after Michalek got past not one, not two but three of the Habs. It earned Halak the title of "The Gatekeeper" during the game because he thwarted Michalek like a brick wall; there simply wasn't any getting past to light the lamp. The third candidate for this particular week is also from the January 30th game against Ottawa where Brian Gionta, Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Markov made 'the perfect recipe' where the Ottawa Senators didn't stand a chance. It is the kind of action that the Habs have been making to keep the fans nothing short of delighted.

The season has been a pretty darn good one for the Habs thus far. Plekanec has made the NHL top 30 list, jumping in at position #18 with 136 shots this season. The Eastern Conference stats show home game tallies at 12-11-4 and away games at 13-14-2. In February, the Habs will take on the Canucks, Bruins, Penguins, Capitals, and Flyers in some exciting matchups that are well worth braving the cold to see.

All home games are held at Bell Centre, which is an excellent venue to enjoy the Habs on ice. Some of the optimum games and dates left in the 2009-2010 season are Pittsburgh (February 6), Washington (February 10), Philadelphia (February 13), Boston (March 13), New Jersey (March 27), Buffalo (April 3) and Toronto (April 10). There are many different levels for seating options from the platinum level prices to the Molson Ex Zone and Saputo Family Zone. Children under 2 do not require a ticket but must sit on a lap. The third and fifth floors offer suite options to suit virtually every budget and even the most discriminating tastes for hockey enjoyment. These suites and super suites offer amenities such as concession service, hostess service, complete bar service, private entrance and much more.

Whether you want to entertain a small group or host a private party of up to 40 guests, you can get luxury and privacy that will let you reward employees, entertain business associates or families and clients and make a lasting impression they're sure to appreciate. With a seating capacity of 22,500 Bell Centre was first known as Molson Centre in 1996 and was not renamed until February, 2002. Faithful tenants of Bell Centre, in addition to the Habs are the Montreal Impact, Montreal Rocket and Montreal Express.

Located on the corner of De la Montagne and Canadiens-de-Montreal, in the heart of downtown Montreal, Bell Centre is very easily accessible by private vehicle or public transportation. Arranged in a three-tier layout, the red seats are the lower 100 section, the white seats are section 300 and the blue seats are section 400. Two levels of corporate and private boxes are located with Club Desjardins situated in between. Patrons can enjoy the game of hockey and treat clients, family and friends to luxury and style at Bell Centre.
