2010-10-12

One of the factors that make people opt for liquid vitamins in preference over pill vitamins is the typically cheaper pricing associated with liquid vitamins. On average, a month's supply of liquid vitamins would cost much less than a month's supply of pill-vitamins. Of course, there are some liquid vitamins which can be expensive than some pill vitamins, but what we are talking about here is the typical trend. And surely, such a trend can't just be incidental or coincidental. There has to be some tangible reason, or a number of them, as to why liquid vitamins are cheaper than pill-vitamins.

So, why do liquid vitamins tend to be cheaper than the pill-vitamins? Well, one factor behind the cheaper pricing associated with liquid supplements would be something to do with the lower processing costs associated with such liquid supplements. In order to present the supplementary vitamins in form of pills, a number of expensive processes usually have to be undertaken. These are, of course, naturally expenses that the makers of liquid supplements don't have to incur. The savings they make, in terms of such expenses, are usually savings that they will tend to want to pass onto the buyers of their products; in a bid to remain highly competitive. Ironically, the justification that is given for going through the further (expensive) steps that culminate in the production of pill vitamins is that the makers are doing so in order to en up with more palatable products. That is ironical because, far from being seen by consumers as highly palatable, pill-vitamins often end up being seen as off-putting, in terms of palatability. And on the contrary, one of the greatest advantages attached to pill vitamins will tend to be something to do with their greater palatability. To be fair though, the further processing that culminates in the production of pill-vitamins does make for reduction of bulk and hence easier storage - but that is something many people are not ready to pay more for.

Another factor behind the cheaper pricing of pill vitamins would be something to do with their shorter marketing chains, and the fact that they are mostly sold via direct marketing (multi level marketing) systems. For starters, the distributors in this system, who usually also happen to be the users of the products, won't demand too high profit margins. This means that the final buyer ends up getting the liquid vitamins at lower prices than would be the case with pill-vitamins, which are normally marketed through the formal and often exploitive drug store and wholesaler networks. The fact that the users all also the distributors in the case of liquid supplements means that many of them can often get the liquid vitamins (for their own use) at the obviously greatly discounted wholesale prices.

Yet another factor behind the cheaper pricing of pill vitamins would be something to do with the fact that many of them tend to be made from natural plant extracts, rather than from synthetic formulations; which is often the case with pill vitamins. Therefore, ingredient costs for the liquid supplements would tend to be lower than ingredient costs for pill vitamins. This ultimately translates to cheaper pricing for the liquid vitamins than for the synthetic-formulation based pill vitamins.

There are many different vitamins being sold to the general public that claim to be anti-aging. One true source of anti-aging is resveratrol, which comes from grapes!
