The 4D Lottery is a popular four-digit number game played in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and a few other countries in the world. The four digit numbers range from 0000 to 9999. Lottery players place a bet or wager on one or more of the 10,000 possible numbers that can be drawn in this lottery game. The players need to match the exact order of the winning number drawn or place a bet that covers all the orders or permutations of their played chosen 4D number to be a winner. In Malaysia the 4D lottery games include Magnum 4D, Damacai 4D, Toto 4D, and in Singapore the Singapore 4D Lottery is offered. The Philippines offer two different named lottery games, namely Luzon 4D and Vismin 4D, that use the same drawn numbers. Unlike American and Canadian Pick 4 Lotteries where only one set of four digits per scheduled drawing is drawn, the Damacai, Magnum, Toto, Singapore, and the Philippines Luzon and Vismin 4D lotteries draw twenty-three sets of 4-digits at each scheduled drawing. These twenty-three (23) winning combinations make up five different categories or prizes. There are ten different sets of four-digit numbers drawn for the Consolation section of the lottery. There are an additional ten (10) sets of four-digit numbers drawn under the Special or
Starter section of these 4D lotteries. The remaining three sets of four digit numbers drawn represent the individual podium winning 4D numbers of 1st Prize, 2nd Prize and 3rd Prize. In the Malaysia 4D Lotteries of Damacai, Toto and Magnum the drawings are scheduled three times a week on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. The same is true for the Singapore 4D Lottery with the drawings being held on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. In the Philippines the Luzon and Vismin 4D lotteries are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Each of the twenty-three drawings beginning with the ten consolation drawings are separate and independent of each other using the traditional ball drawing method and not the computer generated method, which some of the United States Pick 4 lotteries have started using.
There is the possibility that the same exact order number can be redrawn a multiple number of times within the 23 different independent drawings, even including the very extreme and very unlikely scenario of all twenty-three draws producing the very same exact 4D winning number. The process of drawing the 23 winning 4D Numbers begins with the ten (10) 4D Consolation
Numbers followed by the ten (10) 4D Starter or Special Numbers, then counting down with the 3rd Prize, 2nd Prize, and 1st Prize being the last three drawings. 4D sales start a week before the drawing and close at 6pm local time on the day of the drawing. Players can choose to bet for a single draw, two consecutive draws or three consecutive draws. The minimum bet or wager is $1, which represents the local currency.
