To get rid of excess stored body fat the method used for the last thirty odd years has been the calorie model of eating. The idea was that eating less food and supplying less energy to the body than it supposedly needed would force it to burn up the excess stored fat. Unfortunately this method has failed to work as there never has been so many 'diets' and 'diet programs' available and there had also never been so many overweight people in the history of mankind. The main reasons are that the 'calorie model' relies strictly on will power which for most people is a weak link. This method also basically works against the natural physiology of the human body causing it to respond by slowing the metabolism (the body's engine) within a couple of weeks of strict calorie reduction. This dieting method does not take into account lifestyle factors and does not cater to differences in metabolism. There is a new and much better way to lose stored body fat that is also a health risk for nasty chronic killer conditions like heart disease, cancer and diabetes. This new way has a much better success rate and is a long term approach to weight loss rather than a short term 'diet' solution that doesn't even work 95 per cent of the time. The determining factors of sustained weight loss are in the balance of the hormones that tell the body how to manage and use fuel (calories). When these hormones are in balance it is called 'metabolic fitness' and this optimal state will not only reduce disease risk but allow weight to be lost as well. The factors working against 'metabolic fitness' and throwing the hormones out of balance are lack of proper muscle building and maintaining activity and a diet high in refined sugar, fat and lacking in fiber. In other words, our typical modern day highly processed diet and the nature of our increasingly sedentary and inactive world. Unless we start making up for this and add back in some proper exercise to our lives along with eating healthier our future is not looking good. It has been predicted that children being born today have a 20-30 year expected shortened life expectancy. This is the legacy we are leaving to future generations. Not something we can be proud of. The only way to lose the lose excess body fat is to add more fat burning 'machinery' to our body. This is done by getting started on a proper exercise program that contains mostly strength training exercise. The idea is not to 'burn off' calories while you are exercising but rather to stimulate 'growth and repair' hormones that will tell your body to build new tissue so it can run at a higher metabolic rate all day and night. Combine this simple solution with healthier eating and you have the formula for losing all the weight you want over a period of time. Although most of us want things instantly it is simply not possible with excess fat that has been hanging around for years if not decades. You will need to improve your metabolic fitness first and until you change your lifestyle the weight will remain. But, make some very simple basic changes to your activity levels in the way of a strength training program along with healthier eating and watch the pounds fall away.
My name is Carolyn Hansen, and my goal is to show you how to burn fat - without starving yourself - by combining strength training with the right foods that increase metabolism, decrease food cravings, and keep you looking trim. Come find out how it is done.
