One way we can measure our strength, health and fitness is by the amount of energy we have. Having loads of natural energy allows us to have a higher quality of life as performing our everyday tasks and enjoying leisure activities to the fullest needs high energy levels. When we have lots of energy we are more enthusiastic and happier about our lot in life and are more likely to want to be an active person. It is very hard to sit still when your body is bursting with energy and wants to move for the sheer joy of it. And the opposite is true when we are tired and have low energy levels which is usually a by product of low fitness levels. We cannot get the most out of life when we feel like this which can be a 'merry-go-round' of apathy, the blues and low motivation to be active. You see without a proper exercise program that strengthens the entire body it is unlikely that a person can have an abundance of energy. To get off that 'merry-go-round' is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. You will need to take some action though, it will not happen on its own. You need to improve your strength and fitness so in turn your energy levels will be increased. The connection between your energy, vitality and even your moods has been proven time and time again. It makes good sense that feeling tired, worn out is not helpful to getting the most out of life. Our bodies were made to move - a lot - as when in motion energy is produced through the processes of metabolism (the rate you burn fuel). If you spend a lot of time not moving or sitting the more tired you will feel as these processes slow down. When you exercise you increase blood and oxygen to every cell and tissue in the body which helps relieve fatigue. Good chemicals are released; the endorphins, recharging your batteries making you feel invigorated and energetic giving you higher energy levels. If you are currently not exercising or it has been a while you may be having a difficult time finding the energy just to get through the day and cannot see how you will have enough to put into a regular exercise program. But somehow you will need to make your personal fitness a priority. It may be time to say no to something else in your life that is not as important as your health. A fitness professional can help you get started and even help you continue. Having someone to be accountable to makes the whole process much easier. Once you get going you will find you enjoy it so much it becomes easy to keep going. And the stronger and fitter your become the more you will reap the benefits. Your self health care is a journey and all you have to do is take the first step. Without energy you can not have quality of life, so making good choices now with your strength and fitness will not only give your energy levels a boost it will rejuvenate your entire life.
