I had the opportunity to stay at a really nice Helen Ga. hotel called the Bavarian Brook hotel. The Bavarian Brook Hotel is a tad upgrade from many of the standard budget economical grade hotels in and around Helen Ga. For starters, you get a few options of either staying in the standard stripped down room with no upgrades, which is nice for those looking for the cheap basics, and then you can choose from the more upgraded rooms which offer amenities such as in room Jacuzzi, fire place, and even one room that offers a Jacuzzi, fireplace, and wet bar. The décor of the rooms are a tad dated, but this does add to the charm of a old Bavarian Inn. The sheets were sparkling white, with a fresh right out of the dryer smell and feel. The entire room was spotless, including the restroom, which is most important. Upon checking in, I found that th TV in my room would not pick up certain channels, so I told the folks at the front desk, and within fifteen minutes, they had a new TV in it's place working perfectly. By ten o'clock in the evening, you could here a pin drop. This small hotel even on a Helen Ga. Saturday night was dead quiet. Each room has a personal grill for cooking out, and a few of the rooms have really nice large wooden decks with grill and picnic tables. The location is perfect for a Helen, Ga. visit being located a short walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants, bars, and pubs. The Bavarian Brook Hotel is also located directly across the street from the Chattahoochee River, which makes perfect for the trout fishermen. There is a public city park located directly across the street, which offers a excellent view of the mountains, and runs right along the Chattahoochee River. The park is also set up with a handful of nice picnic tables, grills, and a few bench swings overlooking the mountain river. The park also has a large open field for outdoor family sporting activities as well as a really nice large and well-lit picnic pavilion for larger groups. The hosts were local folks, and just as friendly as could be. The receptionist kept calling me honey with a true southern accent, and they wanted to make sure when I was checking out that all was comfortable, and they wanted me to keep them in mind for my next visit. You can tell that they see value in every single visitor. The pool was small, but very clean, and even on a hot Georgia afternoon, there were only a few people, not overcrowded like you experience at many of the larger chain hotels. So if you're visiting Helen Ga. keep Helen Ga.'s Bavarian Brook Hotel on your list of possible hotel choices.
