You have heard it before. You have probably even done it before. But something got in the way with your success. You were going great guns and making progress then suddenly a plateau and then the slippery slide back from fit to fat, from strong to weak. You were supposed to be going the other way....remember?

Rather than dwell on the reasons for what happened why not just simply start again? It is worth trying and trying again until you get it cemented into your life for good. If you can get yourself past the hurdle of not only starting an exercise program but sticking with it long enough to realize the benefits, you have succeeded at something very important to the quality and longevity of your life.

A regular exercise program can provide the basis for not only getting into better physical shape but good health and wellness as well. In the past health meant only the absence of disease or illness but today we expect way more than simply not being sick. We want not only physical health but mental and emotional wellness as well.

Now-a-days we not only strive for a longer life we are after a better quality of life so we can get the maximum enjoyment from it. Along with a slim trim body and good physical appearance we need more energy, better sleep, an outlet to dissipate stress and anxiety and to be able to eat lots of healthy nutritious foods without the fear of becoming overweight.

When you consider the facts that our bodies were made to be active...very active and cannot stand the stress of sitting for up to 80 percent of our day like most of us do. Our bodies thrive on activity and the more intense the better. Being strong and fit is not just getting by in life it is about living every day to the fullest. A strong fit body is more able to function at its full potential and people who are fit tend to feel good about themselves...really good.

A piece of advice that may motivate you to get back to your gym routine quick smart is the fact that it is "easier to get up at 6 am to go workout than it is to than it is to have to look at yourself in the mirror every day and not be happy with what you see".

When you have previously been in 'good shape' and fallen away from your exercise routine, the impact can hit you hard. It may seem like it has happened 'all of a sudden', but in reality you have probably been neglecting your physical self for some time.

Making that decision to change your ways get back to the gym and proper exercise is the easy part. Actually following through is the hard part. But you can do it, as others do every single minute of the day. You can be what you want to be. You can look how you want to look. You can be healthy, strong and fit. The only thing stopping you is you. It truly is a case of 'mind over matter'.
