One of the most common problems of article marketers is that they’re having difficulty getting their readers to click through their resource box. Their readers close their articles without reading them in their entirety. If you’re on the same boat, the best solution to your problem is to get and keep your readers interested. These people will keep on reading if you follow these steps:

1. First step is to make your introduction or first paragraph jaw-dropping. Give your readers something that will get them on the edge of their seats. Ask compelling questions or offer heart-stopping statements. Then, promise these people that they can expect great information should they read your articles until the end.

2. Offer tips or how-to guides. Based on my experience, articles that contain useful information are the ones that are really successful in the online arena. As much as possible, offer your readers with guides on how they can accomplish certain task or offer them with useful tips. For example, you can teach them how to lose their unwanted pounds or give them step-by-step guide on how they can attract more traffic or pull up their page rank. Make sure that all the tips and techniques you offer them are proven to work otherwise, you’ll have a hard time convincing your prospects to trust and respect you.

3. Keep it simple. Your readers will be discouraged to read your articles until the end if they are too difficult to understand. Some article marketers think that if they make use of highly technical terms or complicated sentences, they’ll somehow convince their readers that they have higher intelligence. Well, this isn’t the case. If you give your readers a hard time in understanding your content, you can be assured that they’ll close your articles too soon. These people will then look for other articles that are simpler. You don’t want that to happen, right? So, write as if you’re talking to a 10th grader. Substitute big words with lay man’s terms. Keep both your sentences and your paragraphs as short as possible. Whenever needed, offer examples and relate stories to promote better comprehension.

4. Keep it short. Most online users do not really enjoy spending too much time reading articles online as this can be straining on the eyes. Help them out by making your articles relatively short (around 300-500 words). It will help if you get to the point instead of beating around the bush. Also, avoid using fillers and fluffs.

5. Leave your readers wanting for more. You would want your audience to read your other articles so you’ll get the chance to showcase your expertise. Insert links of your other copies and make sure that they’re related to the topics that are being read by your readers. If your articles are really good and impressive, you can be assured that your audience will read the other articles published under your name.
