When I first discovered article marketing, I thought, "With the endless array of article writers out there, it means an endless array of articles, and not all of them are going to be good. Are there too many? Would this actually saturate the Internet and hinder the efforts of those who provide quality content, keeping them from driving that targeted traffic to their websites?"

Think about it. If there are so many articles out there, will a person looking for something specific actually get tired of looking for it? Would they never discover your quality-written article?

My continued research revealed that this was not the case at all. Even with a ton of content to sift through, there is a definite process to article marketing. It must be done right for your articles to stand out, so that readers can find them as quickly as possible. This way, you have a chance at succeeding in building a profitable online business.

Here is the basic process:

Search keywords in the niche you know well and plan to serve. This is an area that marketers miss, because they look for a niche they think they can make better money at, but lack the knowledge to serve that niche the way it deserves.

Carefully narrow down specific keyword phrases that will reveal an audience. If you find one with search results of 5,000 or more, this is ideal.

Write 400-500 word articles, giving the reader useful information, and not just a bunch of thinly disguised content. Give them something they can use.

Plant these carefully selected keyword phrases in your article, but always pay attetion to submission guidelines. 3-4 times is usually best.

In your resource box, ask the reader if they would like to know more about...then insert the keyword phrase there, and include the link to your squeeze page.

Your squeeze page, should already be set up with your auto-responder, ready to capture readers' email addresses in exchange for something free, either a newsletter, an ebook, a report, etc.

Now the real work commences: Keep building a relationship with your subscribers. Ask them what problems or challenges do they need fixing? What product or service do they need that other marketers in that niche are not providing?

Create the product or service that addresses the need, or fixes their problem.

Sell the product or service you created to your list.

Successful marketers have set themselves apart in their niches using this basic process.

When a reader searches a particular keyword phrase, they will most often find the marketer that has what they are looking for:

Good, quality content that they can use.

Value in your articles and products through your expertise.

A marketer that they can trust, and are going to buy from for a long time.

So really, it does not matter how many article writers are out there. If you do it right, article marketing can draw those targeted readers like magnets, and could put you in the ranks of successful marketers.
