Article writing can be very profitable for both freelance writers and website owners. For website owners in particular, articles can help generate traffic to your website which in the end will increase your revenue. Here are four tips to get you started. First, use keywords and phrases to increase your website's search engine optimization or SEO. Raising your SEO will get your articles placed higher on the search engine result pages of Yahoo and Google. Simply put, the better your placement, the more exposure your site will get resulting in more clicks on your articles. The more clicks your articles receive, the more surfers you will get to visit your website. Second, use interesting titles so that your articles stand out from the competition. Landing on the first page of a Google search is not the end all. Your titles must be interesting so that web surfers do not bypass your articles for other similarly placed articles. Therefore, use a little colour when creating your titles to differentiate them from your competitor's. Third, your conclusion must contain a call to action. Calls to action are a simple way to tell your readers what to do next. It calls on them to visit your website to make a purchase or subscribe. However you intend to generate revenue, your call to action should encourage the readers to do so. This is a very effective way to close your pitch. Finally, insert back links in your call to action. Back links will bring the reader from the article directly to your website. If the call to action is your closing, then the back link is the little push readers need to point them in the right direction. While your call to action tells your readers what to do next, your back links show them where to do it. And obviously this important - you need to tell people what to do and where to go next. Otherwise they won't do what you expect them to. The key is to make it as easy as possible for customers to visit your site and make a purchase. The objective in article writing is to drive customers to your website where they will spend money. Therefore, try to construct your articles with this objective in mind. Great titles and keywords will situate your articles in the right places so that you can be seen by potential customers. Then your call to action and back links will encourage them to make a purchase while delivering them directly to your site. When done correctly, articles are easy and effective ways to generate income.
