Latest Breaking News - Health - Viewing: Are You A Yo Yo Dieter And Exerciser?

2009-02-08

How many times have you thought about losing some weight or improving your fitness and strength and have said to yourself. "I'm too busy right now; I will get started next week". Or "I will just wait until the kids are back at school" Or "When I get this project finished I will start".

Consider this... Do you really think that all of those people with great, strong, lean, healthy bodies are any less busy than you? Not likely, chances are, they are possibly just as busy as you, maybe even busier, yet they find the time to keep themselves healthy and in great shape.

We are all busy, busy, busy and that isn't going to change. If we are so busy then where is all of our time going. We all have the same amount of time in each day. It is how you choose to spend it that is the difference. But how could it be that you would give something else more priority than your health? Could that be time spent watching television, chit chatting on the phone, texting your friends or could it be time frittered away on the internet?

How could these things possibly be more important? If you so badly want to get into better shape, lose some weight, get stronger and fitter wouldn't you already be working your way towards it. Wouldn't you be finding reasons to go to the gym rather than finding excuses not to go?

If you are one of these people that continue to yo yo back and forth with fitness or always have plenty of reasons (excuses) why you don't have time for taking care of business – your health - then there is only bad news for you. You had better get used to being in poor shape and eventually poor health. You had better get used to living a much reduced quality of life and an increased risk of disease. It is highly likely you will struggle with your health and fitness forever.

How about we make a pact? No more excuses. You can start afresh on your goal today by taking control and by taking responsibility for what you do or don't do. It is up to you to find time to exercise. If you cram your schedule so tight you don't have time to take care of your body it is no one else fault.

If how you look and feel is important to you and you care about your short term and long term health there can be no such thing as an excuse. Either you want it or you don't. It is either going to be a priority in your life or not. The bottom line is... If you really want it, you will find the time as it is all about priorities and having the right 'get up and go' mindset.

Your level of strength and fitness determines not only how good you look and feel but how long you will remain functional as you get older. So, why wouldn't you make it a priority in your life so you can get the maximum enjoyment from your time on this planet?
